OLD CODE (2012):
Brick ties for masonry veneer were not required to be pre-bent, and could be attached with 30 mm nails [see 9.20.9.5.(2)].
NEW CODE (2024):
Brick ties for masonry veneer are required to be pre-bent before galvanizing, and attached with 76mm long nails [see 9.20.9.5.(1) and (2)].
Although not typically part of an inspection, this is something for the builders and trades to be aware of, as it will involve a change in typical practice.
